APPROVING THE ‘REGIONAL AGREEMENT ON ACCESS TO INFORMATION, PUBLIC PARTICIPATION AND ACCESS TO JUSTICE IN ENVIRONMENTAL MATTERS IN LATIN AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN’, ADOPTED IN ESCAZU, COSTA RICA, ON 4 MARCH 2018.

This agreement guarantees access to environmental information and public participation in environmental decision-making processes and access to justice, by virtue of the principle of publicity and the right to live in a healthy environment.

While Colombia currently provides guarantees to individuals for access to information, with the implementation of this agreement, environmental participation in decision-making will be further strengthened.
